Sapien Non Sapien
2015
Duane Elgin reminds us in The Living Universe that we are "homo sapien sapien" - double knowing, we know that we know. We also know that we don't know. So as we fill ourselves with ridiculous substances in strange postures in parallel worlds that shift without warning , we'll wait for the dream sequence (there's always a dream sequence), and we'll play out this reality, even if it is a dream, and we'll do it together. Or we can stop and think , and tell each other what we thought. After a while there's a song (there's always a song). And the birds fly south, they fly home, somewhere that's more hospitable. Because these migrations are always going on in the background, reminding us just how very lost we are.
